Exciting new build St Ives

St Ives Construction

Experience the Treetops at St Ives Showground

St. Ives Showground, 3rd of September 2021

St Ives Showground will soar to new heights with today’s announcement of a Tree Ropes and Zipline Attraction, to be constructed within the park. Treetops Adventure – St Ives, will be aiming to open to the public in late December this year.

The adventure park will be Melbourne-based, Treetops Adventure Group’s newest Sydney location, following the success of its 13 other parks across Australia, and forms part of St Ives Showground’s vision to be a regional recreation destination.

Treetops Adventure Group CEO, Nicolas Dansin, said the much-anticipated tree ropes course will provide an opportunity for those wanting to test their skills and challenge their limits as they scale the obstacles and fly the ziplines.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to create another nature-based experience for locals and tourists alike, to rediscover The Showgrounds in a new and exciting way”, Mr Dansin said.

“There really is something for every level of participant, starting from the age of three and ranging up through all ages and skills to the most capable climbers, who will enjoy the challenge of the two most difficult courses which is about 15-meters above the ground. Working within the COVIDSafe guidelines for our industry — we can have up to 180 people across the 80 aerial obstacles and 15 ziplines at any given time.”

Visitors will be offered a 2.5-hour session where they can choose from 8 different coloured courses, starting from 2-meters and soaring all the way up to a dizzying 15-meter-high course. Over one kilometre of cables will span the designed area for the tree ropes park. Aerial activities will include ziplines, wobbly wooden obstacles, tight ropes and nets – all suspended between each platform to create a maze of activities that provide visitors a truly unique, outdoor experience.

“The protection of our host trees are important – not only for our customer’s safety but for the health of the forest”, said Mr Dansin.

“We follow the Australian Standards when building our adventure parks whilst also adopting eco-friendly techniques for the long-term preservation of the host forest. We mount the platforms without drilling into any trees, and instead use a compression method to allow for their continual growth to minimise impact on the environment.”

On top of providing wholesome family fun, Treetops Adventure – St Ives will be supporting the local community by partnering with other operators in the area, suppliers and offering employment opportunities.

“The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority. We will be implementing our COVIDSafe plan, currently in place at all our existing parks, allowing us to confidently open and operate this new location safely.”

“COVID has taken a huge toll on everyone’s mental health, myself included. For children and parents who have been glued to their screens over the last six months, my hope is that our new adventure park will help them reconnect with one another amongst the treetops.”

Treetops Adventure – St Ives tickets start from $28 for three to 7 year olds, $41 for eight to 17 year olds and $51 for 18 years plus. For more information, please visit our website www.treetops.com.au
